MeetDeafPeople.com is fantastically easy to sign up.  It shares a similar format with two of the other products in a similar position this category, suggesting they might be provided by the same group and share the same database for administration purposes.  There should not be a duplication of profiles except where people use both sites, which does tend to happen with the more popular dating sites. 

As a rough guide a quick search showed that there were 264 men in the UK between the ages of 20 - 40 online.  If they are up--to-date this is a great number.  There is no date on the profiles to say how recent they are but there is a feature called "who is on-line?" so you can view and interact with on-line members. 

You also have the option when searching using your free profile to click "I'm Feeling Lucky" which randomly selects a profile based on basic search criteria.  As usual you can choose results with photos only or videos only.  Videos are a great way to break the ice and give others a chance to see your personality.  Not all of the products in this category include video as a feature so this is a plus for this site.

You have your own in-box which is easy to use for private internal e-mail.  The in-box feature shows a thumbnail photo from the member's profile next to their e-mail which is a nice touch.  You also have the option of selecting e-mail preferences.  These allow you to limit e-mail by gender, minimum and maximum age, distance from your location and whether they have a photo or not.  This will help if you get inundated with offers!  It is a good sign that the website offers this feature as it suggests there is enough activity to warrant it being added.

Outside of the free trial membership, premium members can enjoy some added features such as advanced search facility, search by interest and search by screen name.  If there is a problem with your e-mail address the site will constantly remind you to update it, which happened when we were researching this site.  This means you will not miss out if you have accidentally made a typing error in your e-mail address so your communications will be up to date for members and the site to contact you. 

The chat room is very lively on this site mostly in the singles room, but there are other rooms such as deaf chat, travel chat, spiritual chat, flirting chat and couples chat.  There is also a feature to add live web-cam, which is quite a brave thing to do when there are 128 people in there!  Mostly there are videos of people looking puzzled at their computers and looking down typing.

This site is good value for money.  Apart from the usual free trial membership which allows access to a good range of features, there is also an affordable 5-day trial for 99p per day billed at £4.99.  However, do be aware that this will re-bill automatically at the higher rate of £27.99 after 30 days unless cancelled.  The longest billing period is only three months which is unusual for a dating website.  They normally offer six months or a year for better value, but here it costs £39.99 for three months, working out at £13.33 per month which is comparable to other sites.  MeetDeafPeople.com is a lively user-friendly site and well worth a look.
