Deaf-Match Reviews

Deaf-Match.net is the second most popular site in this category after the no#1 product.  It is a basic site and covers an international database of profiles.  It is one of two sites in this category to be 100% free to all members, but has the edge over the other free site because it has the most visitors.  When you have signed up there is a welcome message on logging in.   It tells you whether or not your profile has been approved and is visible in the search results.  This was not done instantly, and we had to wait at least 24 hours for it to be checked out which is a good sign that there is probably a human being on the other end.  The tag line for the website it "we belong together..." and it seems like a friendly clean site.

On a basic search for men and women in the US aged 20-40 we found 100 results all with profile photos.  100 is the limit of the number of search results.  The end page said "members log in to have a lot more search options" but we were already logged in so this was confusing.  All the profiles had photos so that means there are plenty to choose from.  You can search by profile name so you might find people from other sites on here as well, if they happen to use the same profile name on various dating sites.

On a search, there are 147 country options which is pretty good, with the option of opening your search results to the whole world.  As many members are looking for pen-pals, this makes sense.  All the usual questions are asked such as marital status, has/wants children and type of relationship they are seeking.  However it does not give as many options as the other free site in this category and seems to take things a little more seriously.  This all sets the tone for appropriate use.

Members have their own private e-mail and there is an in-box, sent items box and a special box to put scam e-mails.  Presumably the scam box is for website monitoring purposes.  The option for seeing who's birthday it is today serves as an ice-breaker and also a way of browsing.  There is a special "Icebreaker" feature which is a link at the bottom of your profile.  Members interested in your profile can respond to your icebreaker through your profile page.  They also can e-mail you directly through your profile page. 

The photos are of a good quality and, although the profiles are not particularly prettily designed, there is space for adding quite a bit of text.  Also there is a profile feature that tells you what time they last logged on which is important and even not all the paying sites have this.

The site is basic looking and not very slick but as it is free perhaps this does not matter as much as the results.  It is altogether unfussy and practical and seems to have a large user base across the world.  Although it is not one of the more fancy products in this category we would definitely recommend using this site to improve your chances.
